The figurine portrays a Chinese woman with a characteristic hairstyle who is dressed in a long patterned robe covering her body to the very heels. The robe back is decorated with a large lotus flower. The woman stands sticking his hands into wide sleeves and joining them on her stomach. All pose and expression of her face express calmness and serenity.
COMMENT. The gilt bronze figurine is a rare example of Chinese medieval plastics, which is secular in nature. It dates from the reign of the MongolYuan Dynasty (1271-1368). The figurine is pretty well preserved, but the gilding is mostly lost.
