More than 300 weapons from Europe
The collection contains more than 300 weapons. Various types of bladed weapons namely sabres, swords, daggers, dirks and knives especially widely represented. The geographic range of the collection covers most of the countries of Western, Northern and Southern Europe, partly Central and Eastern Europe. The chronological limits are from the late 14th to the early 20th century, but most of the items date back to the 18th – 19th centuries. A special place in the collection is occupied by unique examples of personal weapons that belonged to famous historical figures, as well as rare specimens made by the best European arms manufacturers. Many of them are outstanding works not only of weapons craft, but also of decorative-applied and jewelry art.
