More than 400 weapons from different countries of Asia and Africa
The collection contains more than 400 weapons. Various types of bladed weapons namely sabres, swords, daggers and knives especially widely represented. The chronological limits are from the late 16th to the early 20th century, but most of the items date back to the 18th – 19th centuries. The geographic range of the collection covers most of the countries of Asia and some areas of Africa. The main focus is on the Ottoman Empire, Iran and India, which were largest arms manufacturers on the Asian continent during the mentioned historical period. A special place is occupied by unique examples of personal weapons that belonged to famous historical figures, as well as specimens that are outstanding works not only of weapons craft, but also of decorative-applied and jewelry art.
